An interesting long read about a recent ruling by the Court of Justice of the EU, which deemed that gender identity is more important than 'biological sex', particularly as it applies to identification and GDPR rights.
That means if the UK is going to insist on using 'biological sex', it will be making itself incompatible with European data laws in the process.
Technically possible post-Brexit, but would frustrate cross-border data sharing agreements and our participation in some international organisations.
