The entire point of this place is to post about movies we like, dislike, want to see and don’t want to see.

        It is the assignment…

I am a bit annoyed at these three micro trailers pretending like they're worth anything. 10 seconds of characters saying generic stuff like "I'm about to go into battle!"

With the US and the world at large burning up, it is time for these movie studios to make their stuff a little more relevant. War is happening, it's not a fantasy. And it's not an exciting superpowered alien we're fighting against, but the reality of fascism. Marvel stuff is not only pulp shit, it's utterly tone deaf & actively detracting from our real issues.

Civil War was pretty good in this regard.

Used correctly, fantasy / sci-fi can be a great way to strip off habitual thinking patterns and expose things in the real world that we have become blind to. That's not generally something we'll get from Marvel though, especially after the Disney takeover.

Disney is trying rebuild that hype cycle that the Avengers movies had. Those things were events. I found all the movies so dull.

yea I agree, social scifi is a great tool in this regard. The classics : Bradbury, Barjavel, Dick, etc. definitely not from Marvel though.
