Shogun Season 2 With Hiroyuki Sanada Now in Production for 7 Months in Vancouver

It's only one book
-
There is, but they’re going in a different direction.
There isn't, he wrote six similar novels about foreigners in Asia across like 400 years. They have nothing to do with each other aside from the concept

Great, can't wait for this legendarily good adaptation of an amazing book to go to shit now that it's gone beyond the source material. But we gotta squeeeze as much money out of the property as we can, right?
-
Yes, you'll note there is no Shogun 2
They're 6 independent stories with the same "stranger in a strange land" theme
-
They waited two years to even start filming season two. They’ve lost any momentum that they had.

More Shogun, more Blue Eye Samurai, more Pachinko, Western-Asian cinema is very healthy these days.
BES is amazing. Absolutely fantastic

Read the book like decades ago, only got a few episodes into season 1 and thought it was awesomely done. I still remember the last line (maybe semi last?) of the book. Bit of a spoiler so I won't say but it's been a favourite of mine for years. I recall my dad reading it while younger so may have an impact of enjoyment but while it can be abrupt in its actions the book I think helps with understanding how things worked.
Course perhaps it's all shit and not close to what may happen, mean actual plot as opposed to possible interactions which is what mostly interested me. It's a fun stoy which is the best you can hope for from a novel, regardless of accuracy and hopefully I get ill in the future to watch more (not watching with partner so limited windows to watch it).
Also when watching I sort of thought it was filmed in Vancouver ,sort of a game I play since used to live that area, supernatural and x files and a lot of dc universe shows (green arrow flash etc) are fun to see similar filming locations.
I'd add SG1 but they always filmed in the wood, but since I am from BC I liked them, but used like the bbc quarry for doctor who (old one)

Thank you

I loved Season 1, but now that there is no source material I'll be approaching this cautiously and waiting until it is all out and seeing the reception to it instead of following week by week.

Not really sure how to feel about Season 2 of this show. Initially I wanted the story to continue, then I made my peace with the ending of Season 1 (or at that time the entire show) and appreciated the openness of it. Now that they're actually doing a Season 2 I kinda feel like some of the hype has been lost for me. I suppose it's quite similar to how I felt about Westworld. I finished the first season, thought it had a great open ending, and then assumed the show was done. Then I realised they'd actually released a ton of other seasons so I tried to watch Season 2 and just felt like it was undermining everything that was great about Season 1 as a standalone story.
