Sony is the only studio winning the streaming wars.

That's a great idea for Netflix to stay ahead of the competition

With this deal and if they end up buying WB, how much will the monthly subscription have to go up to stay profitable?

I can't be the only one with family members who still pay for some reason.

Oh, yeah? Well, I'm going to pirate them. We will see if they ever financially recover from my damages.

You’d think Sony would want to sell each property to the highest bidder, rather than make these kind of deals.

If we had any kind of FTC these days, they wouldn’t let Sony do this to begin with. Now we’re going to have a single supplier for all Warner Brothers, Netflix, Discovery, and Sony content.

If by “stay ahead of”, you mean “own”.

Parents yeah. Their usual reason is “I just don’t have the time to do it myself. It’s a convenient enough price for just your mom and I”

It won't just go up in price, imo they'll at some point also start splitting up content and making it only available with certain price packages. (Apparently the cheapest ad supported plan already doesn't include all content, so expect this to move up to higher price tiers aswell)

Good point. It's kinda crazy streamers killed cable just to end up replicating that model.

The quality of the service has been inversely related to the price they charge.
