hi! i have a fun issue right now and that is:

I can't listen to music on my laptop in decent ways anymore! ​

VLC works just fine, same with MilkyTracker and Firefox. - but mpv, xmp, Lollypop and Strawberry refuse to play any music while pretending to play music basically (for some reason??).

the setup is the following:
laptop runs Arch, kernel 6.13.2-zen, newest-available ffmpeg and mpv packages, and the audio is going to Bluetooth headphones. restarting BlueZ (via systemctl restart bluetooth) did not work.

@awoo@gts.apicrim.es are you using pulseaudio or pipewire? does switching to different speakers solve the problem? can mpv play videos with sound?

• I'm using PipeWire.
• I can't switch to different speakers (in this case the speakers of my laptop) since I'm on a train right now ​
• mpv can play videos with sound! (that's odd, ngl)

@awoo@gts.apicrim.es hmmm, what happens f you set the audio output driver of mpv to pulse instead? mpv --ao=pulse.

i suspect that vlc works because it's too old, and can only use pulseaudio
