i was wondering if there was a decent pinterest/we heart it app for the fediverse? i love making aesthetic pinboards and it would be nice to do without being on pinterest (which i believe is facebook)

Pinterest is their own publicly traded company.
They aren't owned by Meta.I found Pinry and Pinetta. Though they seem to be kinda defunct without much recent activity.
Pixelfed allows you to make collections of posts, kinda like Pinterest.
That's all I found with a simple search.

oh, I love this idea. I like to spend time on Pintrest but I hate all the AI.

aesthetic does not mean nice looking. a pleasing aesthetic is nice looking. a displeasing aesthetic is not nice looking.
they way you are using the word is like describing a cold beer as ‘very temperature’, or a fast car as ‘many speed’

Yah, Pinry is good, still works but is not being developed.
I heart Pixelfed too. Its like Instagram.

Aesthetic in this case is an adjective not a noun. Aesthetic pinboard means the pinboard's purpose is visual. Basically style over substance (not in a negative way)
Literally a quick google search of the definition of "aesthetic" would have saved you the embarassment.
"Adjective: 1. concerned with beauty or the appreciation of beauty."

Misskey (and its forks) allows to pin posts of yours or other users to a Clip.

Misskey seems like it might be a viable alternative if only their server list wasn't under maintenance.
