‘Everybody’s at each other’s throats’: James Cameron says he has left the US permanently
-
To be fair; famous people usually get shat on (and rightly so) when speaking about politics
Oh no! Will he cry in his millions?!?! What a poor baby!
-
Why does a canadian have an obligation to help the US?
Great argument! “Why should people that immigrate give a shit about any other country than their mother country?” Really good thinking there arguing for isolationism.
-
Yeah. And as a kiwi it kinda pisses me off that we let wealthy Americans in. I'd rather it was a generic visa program than a pay-to-play.
They going to fuck you next. Maybe you’ll get s taste of your allies saying you deserved it too. Great time on this planet.
-
FYI, he moved to New Zealand.
I think you mean middle earth, though as a kiwi, it's not all sunshine and lollipops here.
-
Huh? New Zealand is in much better shape than america.
You let the fucking same wolves in!
Jesus Christ people can’t be serious right now,

Every one of us profits from a system that exploits workers. There are workers who can't even get online, they're suffering more than you, and what little you have is partly due to their underpaid efforts.
Don't let imperfection be the enemy of good. We're all a part of a system that exploits others, so that can't be any useful metric as it paints everyone.
K so I’m going to continue to be pissed at some asshole coming to our country with no loyalty or desire to be American, exploiting our labor, and fucking off when it gets bad.
I hope he gets to live long enough for it to come to his door.
-
He is in fact a Canadian from Canada. Do you think everyone who left Nazi Germany in the 30s was a coward?
The super rich? Yes.
-
Whenever I see people telling American to just leave the US, I always think "so I have to be rich to move to a new country? And I'm supposed to be a problem?" It costs tens of thousands of dollars to get just the application. It's extremely privileged to assume everyone can do that.
You can pretty easily get a job for shit wages teaching English in Japan, and it's not the only country like that. You don't have to be rich, you just have to consider a different standard of living acceptable
-
He is literally not American
Yes I’m aware.

So James Cameron made what movie about how bad The USA politics is & how bad Capitalism (or should I being saying Feudalism) is? Answer NONE!
What a spoiled brat, I love Avatar movie series, but just go, we do not need you -

It is nice to be so Rich & a immigrant to The USA, so that you can just leave. I been trying to live in Denmark, for decades!
-
The whole country is doing a Titanic.
What the rest of the world, EU turning Far Right Nazi & no one cares enough to prevent worse of ‘Global Warming’ & we keep overpopulating the world with us & our favorite animals!
-
It's funny, reading your sad little statement while thinking about the countless immigrants who left everything to start a new life in America, back before the fascists took control. We really are a sad little nation now, in more ways than one.
now the reverse is happening, only for people who can MOVE. like scientists and rich people.

rich or have a Phd in stem that is niche, same goes for MDs in a in-demand specialty.

if thats all you are going to do, and can live off that then go for it. i doubt its the majority of the people that move there though. usually japan isnt really keen on giving much room for foreigners with careers, let alont immigrate there, especially now they have elected a far-right PM.
-
Back during W Bush second term, I looked at migration to just Canada. It was several thousands of dollars for the application, need to have employment shortly after moving there or before then. Now it's harder to do so.
THE PROBLEM is finding employment, i assume most people already had that set up prior to landing canada. its more likely if you are planning to go to "school" there , or have a in-demand job that canada needs filling.

Sounds like a fair weather friend. Fuck that guy. Good riddance.

"At each other's throats?" 30% of the country is behaving like Nazis, others are calling them on it, and a disturbing percentage are silent. Yes I suppose more people could be silent to help preserve his feelings.
He has the money and platform to speak out. Instead he leaves.
calling them out, is all they are doing, no other action than that.

FYI, he moved to New Zealand.
smart.. hiding from maps

As a professional scuba diver I think his ocean-related work is much more important than America. Sorry guys but the world doesn't revolve around you.
Then he can do without the both sidesism.
Whats irritating about this is not so much that he chose to leave but that he did so while making an unhelpful comment attacking every side in the political mess.
I would also be careful ignoring Trump. As much as I would like to think Trump is ignorable he has nukes and unlike Xi and Putin seems to have dementia.
