Hily shit, they managed to fuck up the best Silent Hill story ever? All they had to do was follow the damn game! Can't wait to watch this one and cringe.

Just watched this. Been a fan of the games since the PS1 and played through the remake last October.

I liked this movie. I also liked Gans first one. Return follows the story of SH2 pretty well. It hits the majority of the main story beats and characters while keeping things moving when necessary (I joked we were going to arrive at the apartment ms 10 minutes in and the spend 3 hours of run time there, as soon as we saw the apartment building, there was a good chuckle with our viewing crew. Thankfully, they touch all the milestones you’d hope for and move on to the next set piece before overstaying their welcome). One thing that felt odd was the visuals. There are some real uncanny moments and we had more than a few mown moments where we couldn’t tell if James in particular was CG or live action.

This is far from a perfect film and I’m sure it will be overly criticized online, but as a movie retelling of one of the best silent hill stories of all time, Gans did well.

        Genuinely interested in discussing here!
