apart from any moral, ethical, legal, and quality issues with generative ai. one of my major problems with it (when people use it to "create" things that they then share) is: i don't care!! i want to see something that another living creature put thought and effort into! for example with art i couldn't care less if the picture is technically good or visually pleasing, if it was just spat out by a computer program. i want to be able to know that it's the result of someone's effort because that's what gives it meaning and relevance. same goes for e.g. code, i don't care if the program runs and does the thing, it's just pointless to me if someone didn't actually write it in the first place, im interested in the actual hobby of programming not just the end result
