Baffling to me.
The last one was absolutely terrible, 28 Weeks Later started out great and totally fizzled out by the end and the zombie genre as a whole is so played out.
Hey, good for the franchise and all its fans.

28 weeks later is Citizen Kane compared to 28 years later.

28 weeks later was a turd from start to finish. Years was probably the best movie of last year. Thanks for explaining why you’re so baffled

Weeks was terrible, but I enjoyed Years. It's far divorced from the original of course, and it created its own lore I guess, but it's not bad.

28 Years Later has had such an interesting and starkly diverse split in terms of what people thought of it. People seem to either like it, or absolutely hate it.
I liked it, but now view it as a complete departure from the originals, and from the zombie genre in general. Now we’re kind of getting a look into how this dystopian hellscape has solidified over the years and what kind of insanity comes out the other end. That’s the part I’m curious to see, even if it’s not executed as well as I’d like.
