For anyone interested in movies by Polanski, Tarantino, or Woody Allen. It is OK to like their work. They are indeed masters of their craft. You can source that bounty in the high seas and not benefit the problematic movie makers in any way.

Sorry, I wasn't insisting that you knew about it. Enough time has passed that many haven't heard of it because no one's talking about it anymore. It was well-reported at the time though. An important reason it isn't talked about anymore is that it was resolved a long time ago too.

I'm not a huge fan of his, but he's certainly no "hack director." Huge on style and violence, sure, but movies like Django Unchained for example were riveting and even educational IMO.
The opening scene to Inglorious Basterds (farm scene), is masterful. Yes, the acting is exceptional but it is the writing, the directing and Tarantino's stubbornness to not even make the film unless he had the actor that could deliver the scene exactly as he imagined it, that makes it masterful. One of the most chilling and suspensful scenes ever put to film.
Tarantino is still a genocide apologist and a complete dick though. These two facts are not.mutually exclusive.
