Remedy's new CEO is a former sports betting guy and EA executive who aims to 'scale Remedy in a way that builds lasting value'

Hopefully it won't be like Nokia and Stephen Elop.

I argee with the article's author that there's reason to have some concerns about this.
Is this dude the reason Firebreak exists? Cuz if so, that doesn't bode well.
-
Until they shelve the single-player games indefinitely, and use the assets to shit out a microtransaction riddled hero-shooter set in the Remedy-verse.
so... FBC: Firebreak 2: MTX Boogaloo: Revenge

Remedy's cooked, though I like their games enough that I'll gladly pay up to 25โฌ for a single-player experience (after it's patched for a year) if there's no need for an online connection and no added live service "value", and it doesn't come with denuvo or kernel-level anticheats.

RIP remedy
Yup. It's dead.
-
With AI and microtransactions you say!
Microtransactions are for pussies, macrotransactions are where it's at

Well shit. I hope the supposedly in development Control 2 manages to come out somewhat unscathed before things go fully downhill.
-

It doesn't say how new. But Firebreak is the cited reason they hired this new guy. So hopefully that means they won't go down that path.

I can't with this industryโฆ -

Of course, they announce a DMC-like Control sequel and go apeshit right afterโฆ I swear this genre is cursed.

Nnooooo
They were already building lasting value.
By just making good artistically meaningful games.
"Art is something that we think is a little outdated in the modern business landscape" - this guy probably.
