Overwatch 2 Is Just 'Overwatch' Again And Five New Heroes Arrive Next Week
-
These look like generic Chinese-overwatch characters.
-
It's been that way for a long time. The term smurfing, I think, originated with Warcraft II.
The games I played didn't have ranking. It was better.

just play TF2
or marvel rivalsat this pointedit: maybe TF2 Is the better option(and its mods)
I play Marvel Rivals almost every day. Compared to Overwatch, it's more casual and fun oriented, not that balanced at all. And its in third person, not first person. While Rivals has some Overwatch energy and can be played as a replacement, it is not a full replacement. And no other of these games will probably reach peak Overwatch and does not have the same charm.
BTW I recently installed Team Fortress 2 Classified, a mod that got its own Steam store page. It has lot of stuff from early TF2 days recreated and looks very interesting. Still need to try it out.

why does this game ask for my phone no. to play?
I hate that shit. But there is actually a reason for. It's part of their ongoing battle against cheaters or bad actors, as the game is free to play.

You can play 1.5, 1.6, Conditon Zero, and Source.
You can't play Global Offensive anymore, afaik. It did the same thing OW2 did, getting replaced entirely by CS2.
But CS2 is basically Global Offensive. They "just" ported it over to the new engine. All items were kept and you didn't need to buy your items again, as it is the same account. Overwatch 2 on the other hand changed the entire formula (5v5 instead 6v6) and introduced lot of new game types and modes. So it's not exactly the same situation. Having said this, I wish Valve would have created a new game id and store page for the new version of the game. Such a shame.

This is salt in the wound for my friends who miss launch Overwatch.
They are mocking us.

The reason Hytale exists is and is popular is because outside of exploration (and creative mode) Minecraft kinda sucks. The combat is boring, the enemy variations (including bosses) are pretty limited, the survival element is trivialized within the first hour of the game, the progression is weird (to put it nicely). There's so much to improve over Minecraft that something like Hytale or Vintage Story (which goes so far in the other direction that a comparison with Minecraft or Hytale becomes pointless) can exist.
The same isn't true for Terraria. Terraria has taken its originally simplistic combat and turned it into something relatively deep with different classes all with their own unique twist to combat. The enemy variations are through the roof with not only different types of enemies depending on the biome but also depending on your progression. And the progression is the core of the game. The reason to play is to get good gear to beat a strong boss to get better gear to beat even stronger bosses. And finally there's variety in building, automation and fishing. Terraria is a far more complete game than Minecraft which is why you're never going to see the Hytale of Terraria.
Terraria does its thing so well you can't just take everything Terraria does and do it better. You can only take things Terraria does well and do something different with it, like Core Keeper, Don't Starve or Valheim. If you try to take everything Terraria does but do it bigger and better you're going to end up with Starbound.

Fuck whatever morons think dumb shit like this is acceptable:

I swear, everybody is such a goddamn sellout these days.
This dumb shit isn't acceptable, and if I see something like this I just don't go to the website.

It was an a****** dude that no one wanted to play against in high-ranking ladders because everyone knew his name because he was a f****** a******.
So he made two accounts. One called Papa Smurf and the other smurfette. Then proceeded to s*** on low-ranking. Players made fun of them and was he general a****** till everyone learned those names and started avoiding him as well.
Smurfing since its inception has been fundamentally something only assholes do where this whole purpose of being an a******.
Ranked systems only work if everybody only has one account. It's also why most games restrict you to only one account for ranked purposes.
If you can't be assed to cuss, stop using the words. All you are doing is making it harder to read what you are saying, and making yourself look like a child who will get in trouble for cussing. We aren't on YouTube or whatever, you won't have your content surpressed because you offended the advertisers delicate sensabilities.
Sorry, that rant was only half directed at you. I'm just frustrated at a world where using bad words is considered worse than literal nazi shit.

I'm still grateful that Blizzard did the Overwatch free weekend so I could determine for myself that it sucks ass.
-
I hatwcwhen guess try to add too many characters
Earlier on, it felt like I could competently play all characters and, when i saw another in the field, knew what to expect from them
Now, I feel like constantly learning new characters is a chore at best

Why are they storing that content in a third party cookie?
Seems like their webmaster needs to update it.

I'm right there with you. I think the hamster was the last new hero I played with.
Those were good times.
Now they're adding a cat with a jetpack, which I would love if they gave her a better name than Jetpack Cat.
Jetpack Cat was the original name of the cat though. It's a tough corner they've backed themselves into there.
It was originally the model for Pharah, before they decided (Jeff Kaplan) that it should be more serious and not include actual animals in it (you have Winston, but he talks and acts like a human).
So they reworked the Jetpack Cat into Pharah and released her as the daughter of Ana.
Jetpack Cat is owned by Brigetta and is one of her emotes that she picks it up and cuddles it.
If they had named it anything else, it would have ruined the 10 years of lore they built up around it, so I understand why they did it.
The issue for me is that it's a support character.

Blizzard openly admitting that they scammed players into buying Overwatch 1 twice:
