.. A show that is good.

    This show is terrible.

It’s strange that they doubled down on ”Discovery: The Sequel” and expected success. It reminds me of when everyone hated the Star Trek Enterprise theme song, so instead of replacing it the producers just “jazzed it up”.

And the "jazzed up" version just made it worse.

If by backlash, the article means people don’t want a terrible show, than yeah it is a backlash.

This show is just so bad.

Lol yeah, as if to say it's somehow not the fault of the show that it's bad, but the fault of the audience for not liking it.

I dunno about the attacks, I watched the first few and I thought it was okay but it's just another school/college/university/academy version of a show, doesn't feel like boldly going where no one has gone before. I don't have any problem with it persay just eh.

This is Paramount's song and dance for all the new Trek shows that fail to land. They get a few big names to say "It's Just Like The Shows You Love!" and then blame malicious actors for the poor reception.

              It's so exhausting.

If we were only 4 episodes into DS9's original airing, people would be losing their minds complaining about how terrible of a show it is. The first season was terrible.

I watched the first episode thought it could go either way, but I liked it. Not sure what the hate is but maybe EP 2 and 3 will suck most first seasons of treks got a lot of hate, even TNG.

In fact the only good first seasons were SNW and TOS

Compared to TNG's first season, it was prestige T. V. (O. K., maybe not that good; but I had no problem watching it without having to try again, later).

Within the same paragraph, this article's author dismisses the RT audience score as right-wing review bombing, and then holds up the absurdly inflated RT critics rating, that is full of media shills whose primary function is to boost ratings of the slop coming out of the major studios.

Well I'm a socialist, and a casual enjoyer of Star Trek i.e. not a Trekkie, and I thought this show was complete and utter dog shit.

It's a white label CW teen soap with a Star Trek label slapped on it.

The show's writers clearly either don't like Star Trek, don't understand it, or just don't care.

Oh no, does this mean I'm now MAGA?

I watched the series premiere back in the day. It was phenomenal. You exist here. It is not linear.

Duet is still hands down one of the best episodes of tv ever.

Dramatis Personae made one mistake and that was it was shown too early in the show for the casts amazing performance.

Dax was a good courthouse show. The Nagus was a good episode. Progress is a slow but good episode dealing with how a former freedom fighter has to learn to compromise.

I'll admit season one isn't as good as what follows but I'm not ready to say it was even close to terrible.

Now, since we brought up DS9 (ty btw), I'd like to point something out. Tawny Newsome is listed as a producer in the credits for academy, she's a huge DS9 fan. This last academy ep I had to hear Vance deliver the line "May the Klingon gods help us." There are times when producers probably should pass notes down, and this was one. The Klingons killed their gods. Tawny, you should have spoke up.
