Chinese propaganda is rampant on the fediverse

Best advice here. ML is a goddamn dumpster fire
Lol. This coming from a .worlder

It's always funny to watch tankies try to justify their boot licking. You're not fooling anyone, bud.
It's always funny to watch shitlibs have no response and have to resort to lazy insults

Chinese propaganda is rampant on the fediverse. We need to discuss ways to combat this. One group- memes or something is wholly controlled by Chinese state actors. What do you think?
Of course it is. Its what the block button was made for.
-
This is literally what was removed and the entire argument/question. Do you think people are okay targets if in wrong country, and it's yes.
So you think it's legal to expressly target civilians?
Again it was if it's a legal order is it okay for them to kill people or civilians and you said yes. But now that you see it you're not too no I totally meant not if being specifically targeted, but it's fine if they're collateral
Like fuck how does this keep happening, especially from the ones calling ml a shit hole
I think we have a misunderstanding. I meant legal by international law. It is not legal by international law to target civilians. So no, I do not think it's okay to target civilians, full stop.
But yes this is very much how .ml feels. Twisting words to achieve some sort of propaganda win. Excellent job there.
-
yes it is, because it's not china holding the world hostage with their trillion dollar military. they are qualitatively different.
saying tens of millions or deaths worldwide (probably much more) and even more kept in poverty is in equal standing with getting into war with your neighbor for a few months 50 years ago is a wild exaggeration that serves to both sides an issue that has one prominent cause for a century or so rn. we have had enough of it.
it's not china holding the world hostage
I'm not going to play this game with you. The US being shit doesn't excuse China from being shit. Or vise versa. Simple as.

but they aren't. you still speak as if they are two big bad villains willing to nuke the planet.
only one of them is and equating them is dishonest at best to someone subject to the empire and very deflective.

I'm a big fan of using previous baseless conspiracy theories to justify current baseless conspiracy theories.
brain in a box so he doesn't have to think anymore

Thanks op for 引蛇出洞,although I think most CCP apologists on Lemmy are 自干五 rather than paid state actors. Lemmy simply is not that important as Reddit in terms of natural viewers and AI scrapping.
I do hope those yankie tankies are actually being paid because every penny CCP spent on propaganda is one penny less spent on terrorizing its own people and neighbors. It would also be very pathetic to ideologically devote oneself to defending authoritarian regimes for free.
I also notice a large swing in the upvote counts of this post in the past few days. As our beloved 教員 once wrote, 事情正在起變化.

How do you define "Chinese propaganda" and why do you think CCP even cares about a place as small as Lemmy?
As a side observer, I just see some people being more loyal to China and others to the US. This does happen on a decentralized platform where you can't shut down the other side of the discussion.
Overall, Lemmy remains America-centric and America-dominated on all fronts, so if there's any bias, it's here.

I'm assuming that made sense in your head?

equating them is dishonest
Criticizing one of them on it's individual merits while avoiding comparisons is very obviously not the same thing as equating both of them.
and very deflective.

whats that mean
It means you frequently defended the IDF genociding in Gaza

Again not twisting any words. This is why most think ml does censorship. They come in, say terrible things and when comment removed or banned call foul.
This is what a 10+ comment deep thread and you still can't admit why anyone would think it was poor wording

In that specific case I was banned for words I didn't say. Same technique you are trying here, to ask me if legal attacks should be allowed and then changing the definition of legal. And there are plenty of mods for just saying something which the CCCP doesn't like:
Okay… From the last couple days.

Well sure you can criticize Trump there. But try criticizing the CCCP, China, or Russia.
I engage regularly there in precisely those discussions.
-

LOOOOOLOLOL you can't be serious.
then why is it doing to the us "whataboutism"?
it is very deflective to go both sides bad when neither exists in a vacuum. especially considering the context of the fucking world being held hostage by the us.
i find it hard to believe westerners hate china that hard on it's own merits, because it doesn't warrant that at all.
but i do find it curious they always want to remove all context or straight up lie to criticize china, because that's the only way westerners can.
