    • 343 fucked up Halo Infinite
    • Starfield was a flop
    • Can't find any games under $20 any more
    • Game Pass price raised
    • Can get the same game on PS5/PC cheaper and in better quality

I couldn't have done it worse if I tried. Xbox is already dead, they will discontinue the Xbox console in a year or so and slowly spin down the brand.

It's already disappeared from our game shops, it's just PS5, Nintendo Switch and some PC accessories.

They had it all with the 360. 2013 was the beginning of the end.

343 has been ruining Halo ever since they were formed, it goes beyond Infinite.

Well according to Frank O'connor, a non-zero number of them hate Halo. Its why they were hired. If I had to guess, from the way they have mistreated the franchise, its more than 60% of them at the least.

💯. I remember the first game they made (halo 4 I think?) they had to go and introduce a whole new race just to put their own mark on the game. Guess what? The Prometheans were fucking stupid and that game sucked. I went from hardcore halo gamer to casual at best. I still haven't finished 5 even though it's installed on my PC.

Forza Motorsport being a flop was most upsetting to me. Probably the best funded simcade game next to Gran Turismo with a long development time and they fall flat and it still doesn't even work on Linux. Forza Motorsport should be low hanging fruit with their experience and budget and they still managed to drop the ball

Halo 5 is only like 4 hours long. It's absolutely pathetic, nonsensical and boring AF. Now you know all this, feel free to uninstall.

With no successor, no backwards compatibility for next gen. Why would any new gamer opt for it!

I was going to get one second hand to dick around with until this. I'll stick to PC and steam link.

I mean… That’s part of their intentional pivot right? “Everything’s an Xbox”. They’re after subscriptions to their ecosystem. Play from your tv, tablet, phone, computer with no hassle. Not saying it’s the best or right for everyone, but it’s certinly a calculated business decision rather than a side effect of discontent by users.

But losing a market like this is a type of failure that should turn into a case study and that's really bad. You don't outcompete yourself by making your competitors always the better option.

Not sure I follow your logic. They’re widening their user base by removing the “console” need. What market have they lost? Hardware sales have been operating at razor thin margins for years. PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo don’t make loads on console sales. They make much money on sales in their marketplaces. Games and subs. Xbox is just ahead of the game by removing the “buy in” cost to their marketplace. Theres a case study for you. Not saying it’s better for the end user. It may be, it may not be. But it’s certainly better for the bottom line.
