Federated blog platforms? (ideally lightweight)
-
So I am trying to get a blog running on my VPS, and I already managed to use WordPress for that, but I really would like something a bit more basic. I also managed to get writefreely running and was not impressed with that (unlike WP it basically just pushed a single link post into the fediverse and didn't allow any further interactions).
Plume doesn't seem to be developed anymore.
Is there any other app for single-users that allows federation? -

Is there any other app for single-users that allows federation? Most microblogging platforms actually don't artificially limit the amount you can write, unlike Mastodon, so they can also work for macro-blogging.

Mastodon's character limit is pretty easy to change when self-hosting, but it has other limitations like a lack of even basic formatting and images inline in posts. I think that's true of several of the others as well.

Ok...but this looks way too enterprise?

It's a non profit and open source. But they do the same as WF, basically just an account that posts links to your blog.

Molly White does a better job at explaining what Ghost is than I could. She did so on Ed Zitron's podcast, Better Offline a little while back. Sorry, but other than that I'd just do some more research.
Here is said episode.
