    That’s worldwide subscriber numbers.

In the US and Canada it’s hovering around 80 million. Doing some searching, I can’t figure out if that number is going up or down.

It’s worth noting that outside of North America, Netflix subscription prices are usually much much lower. For example, in India, an ad free subscription costs around $7 per month.

    https://beebom.com/how-much-netflix-costs-each-country-worldwide/

So while Netflix is adding subscribers, it’s outside of the US, and possibly at much lower profit margins.

I'm so over Netflix shows. I just watched Travelers and really loved it, but the ending was kind of terrible and abrupt. Looked it up and yep, show got canceled which is presumably why it ended the way it did. Not the first time this happened to me, but it's going to be the last. Netflix's IPs can burn.

And not limited series, which tell a complete tale over the span of a single season. Nope! We mean "shows intended to run for multiple seasons that get cancelled because Netflix would have to actually pay the talent".

Netflix didn’t cancel Travelers, they picked it up after it was canceled by Showcase and gave it a third season to wrap up the story (if I am remembering correctly).

The story was definitely wrapped up at the end of season 3 (albeit with an opening for more seasons)… I’m surprised you found it abrupt.

Oh I didn't know that, thanks for the info. Yeah they wrapped up the story I just didn't like the lack of closure, so I assumed it was a rush job. All I did was look up Travelers and saw it was canceled at some point. I understand what they were trying to do but it just didn't sit right with me at all.

For example, Marcy and David ending up back with each other at the end. It was a cute sentiment on surface level but that's not the Marcy we knew, nor the Marcy he fell in love with. I'd rather he just continue as the amazing social worker he is, and them show the impacted lives he made up to that point.

Mac totally changes the course of Kat's life by making sure she never ended up with him. Hell, she probably ended up in an emotionally neglectful relationship, one she was obviously looking for a way out of when she met him. I guess it's better than being manipulated by a traveler the rest of her life, but it was just an unfulfilling way to leave her.

And the rest of the cast get nothing at all. I truly do get the message, fucking with time did not help anyone and allowing the timeline to unfold naturally is a better solution than the intervention of the travelers. Its supposed to be a bit somber and sad, with a cool little twist that the director starts loading it's contingency plan.

And Mac being able to travel before the most recent traveler felt like a huge Deus Ex Machina. This is one of the biggest things that separated Travelers apart from other time travel series, by limiting their capabilities to time travel. But suddenly we find out it has been possible the entire time? Rubbed me the wrong way and made it feel very similar to the ending of other time travel shows I've seen.

Of course, this is personal opinion, and I hope not to offend you in any way if you enjoyed the ending. But for me personally, they missed the mark on what could have been an emotionally wrenching finale.

No offence taken. I knew the situation going in, so I was happy that there was at least some sort of closure — in fact, I think the only reason I watched it is because I had read that it didn’t end on a cliffhanger and had a “proper” ending.

I did really enjoy the show and will probably watch it again.

Netflix pulled Travelers out of it trash and gave it a third season, but they should not have done that. The third season sucked ass.

Really? The content on Netflix is mediocre at best. They couldn't sustain interest in their flagship show to the conclusion. They keep rotating all the good movies out. And if I understood Matt Damon's comments this week, they're re-writing how their movies will be structured to pander to people who aren't interested in them.

I don'tunderstand how anyone who enjoys film thinks this is worth paying for.

Oh, they're not currently re-writing their films. They have been re-writing their films for the past couple of years.

::: spoiler spoilers for the finale
spoiler I honestly found the whole 'we can't travel before 2001' to be absolutely ridiculous, I think the first Traveler could have easily landed in the 1990s so I felt vindicated by the finale.
I really enjoyed that it wasn't a happy ending but it wrapped up the show.
I would kill for a Travelers 2.0 spinoff where they kill billionaires and politicians tbh.
