I got about 8 minutes in and got a weirdo vibe that I felt the movie couldn't recover from, so I cut it off. I'm not saying that my assessment is accurate given the short viewing time, but I'm not surprised by your review.

Same, but then I decided to watch the rest of it and actually enjoyed it.

Out of morbid curiosity, what would be your nomination for best movie of 2025?

That vibe never change. PTA is the master at setting the tone. Whatever tone you get you get from the opening you will get throughout.

It is clear that the tone PTA wanted for this movie was ANNOYING.

I thought it was pretty good. Watched it in the cinema, I didn't regret it.

I don't think it was the best movie of 2025, but it was entertaining and relatively well made and somewhat original.

          ..

It was Taken with a Hipster reskinning. Instead of a guy with a particular set of skill it was a guy who did a a lot of bong hits..

if that is true 2025 has to be worst year for movies in history.

2025 wasn't even the worst year for movies in the 2020's decade.

This may have been artfully made, but its not remotely an "artsy" movie at all.

It is a PTA movie. He is the reigning king of Art House movies. The only way this thing can could get more artsy is to have a black and white scene with a coked out supermodel yelling egoees while standing on a balcony.

So the start is a dream sequence?

                Meh.

It wasn't exciting or interesting. I've stuck with plenty of movies that were confusing at the start. It's not worth the reveal.

No, it's that the older radical violent generation is trying to live out a fantasy and they are making things worse not better.

Look at how not only does nothing improve during their efforts, but the mere presence of Bob disrupts the efforts of a well organized community who is actually helping immigrants.

And in the end the daughter does not pack a moltov and sawed off shotgun for a raid, she goes to a protest.

Weapons? Not a chance. Very good. Excelent even. But not best picture.

Haven't seen either of the others.

But all movies are fiction. Even documentaries.

                      I don't know who's list that was.
I never actually made one myself.
