3rd one is worse. It’s like a repeat of the 2nd. I thought they were gonna reveal some kind of new fiery, volcanic world to explore. But no. Same played out bad guy, same water world. They introduced a new bad gal (who was the most interesting part), but then that didn’t really go anywhere.

But that's already a repeat of the first one.
James Cameron has discovered the infinite money glitch! -

But bro, it's so good, bro. Bro, just grab a bro and – Bro, just watch it, bro.
(If you haven't seen the movie, that's the gist of the first 85 minutes)

Everyone just wants to dogpile on the Avatar movies and I don't get why. It happened with Titanic too, which is coincidentally a James Cameron movie.
I like them. I think they're fun and entertaining and they're a fuckin joy to watch because of how gorgeous Pandora is. I'm excited for the 4th and 5th movies to see how this series will end up playing out. I also liked this third one the best.
I agree, the hate boner that people have for the Avatar movies is bizarre. Of the two movies this post is about the third Avatar was so much more entertaining.
I am stoked for the fourth and fifth ones.

I thought the first two movies were very boring but I understand why people find a movie series about 10 foot tall almost naked cat people appealing. We've all dreamed about it.

You have to turn your brain off and just enjoy the eye candy. I think some people struggle to do that, which is fair, the films had terrible plots.

I mean... Generic maybe, but not terrible imo. I enjoy the story.
And tbh I fucking love Quaritch in the sequels. They honestly made him a pretty compelling character, and I'm really enjoying his evolution.

That's fine, but what is a terrible plot if not a generic, predictable one? In the second film, an entire army just disappears, I'd say that alone is pretty terrible writing.

IMO, the Avatar movies are art projects. People go in expecting something with a better story, but James' movies are artistically astounding and pushing the limits of current technology.

Pretty much. I still like the story, as I enjoy world building and nerdy shit like that, but I recognize that they're more kind of tech demos. Absolutely gorgeous and immaculate tech demos.

I feel like there is some mass mind control delusion thing going on. You're telling me everyone is going to see these but nobody talks about them?

Oh god. That was so cringe!

You mean, Avatar, Book Three: Fire? Wasn't the second one also a ripoff of Book One: Water? How is this entire series naming convention not a blatant ATLA ripoff?

Am I de only one who dislike Avatar? Even the very first one wore out in a few minutes...
