Someone posts to their followers, of which I am one, so I see the post. If I then reply, is it to their followers or my followers?

@007 @mastodon it's to the original poster, but if your account is set to open, eg not restricted to your followers only, then anyone can see it. However, if their instance is not federated with your own, it might not show for everyone... I think! I've been here for coming up for 3 years and I'm still not totally clear on that

You "reply" to the name in your post (in this reply to you there are two on the first line). Your reply can be seen by anyone on a server or instance federated with you and them when it is public, followers or not.
