Why are you assuming I'm from New Zealand? All I know is they don't have federal agents going around executing people extrajudicially in the streets...

So James Cameron made what movie about how bad The USA politics is & how bad Capitalism (or should I being saying Feudalism) is? Answer NONE!
What a spoiled brat, I love Avatar movie series, but just go, we do not need you

I'm surprised people here aren't mad that Hayao Miyazaki rarely visited the US since Bush II.

The most effective thing he can do it take that tax revenue out of the US. Now New Zealand and Canada will be reaping all the benefits of having him there

No, I did see that USA invading other places/nationalities, Other Beings & Environments, even saw past genocide of North American Indigenous people, Other Beings & Environments, by The USA. That is so rare, no one else I know of does that sort of movie series , THEN IT IS JUST A PRETTY/FLUFF SET OF MOVIES! Unfortunately 1st is light years better

How do you not see that is different from the BLANK going on now?
‘The Crazy Don’ & Etc. is coming from inside, directly destroying everything & not hiding anything; NOT from outside, directly destroying outside-indirectly destroying inside & hiding important things, from back home & propagandizing the rest.
That Mr. Cameron is running a way from, as a wealthy, thus privileged coward that he is, not in the protests, risking everything, for the people that made him the stuff that enables him to hide in another country!

Plus, many of his other movies are the exact opposite of taking on Capitalism (or should I being saying Feudalism) & it’s favorites- Rich-Super Rich Economic Classes/Owners!

Honestly, if I was relatively wealthy, odds are that I would tuck tail and run away from the US. Unfortunately, my poverty has backed me into a corner. Flight isn't an option, only fight.

Yerp, the wealthy are always insulated from the problems they create. And then they get upset when we try to tax them to contribute to fixing those problems.

"It doesn't affect me, why should I pay for it?" "Motherfucker, you caused it!"

He could get out there and energize protests. In the country he got so much out of. While its citizens rot with no healthcare he lived like a king off our labor. Fuck every one of these people.

Exactly, he's made so much money off the American public and when stuff gets bad he leaves. Normally lemmy doesn't defend the rich but here we are.

"Everyone is at each others throats" is some delightful both-sidesing.

These rich "common sense" centrists really have no idea.

This isn’t just Trump. People want to act like this is one man. The United States does not function. It will not get better after Trump leaves.

I hope that someone is AOC. It would be an extra spicy repudiation to these bastards if it was GASP, a woman, who reformed America and is a central figure in the history books.

The last thing the Dems need is another female candidate. The voters have made it clear that it doesn't want a female president. And AOC has no international experience and is aligned with liberal agenda groups that more conservate Dems and more liberal GOPers don't want.

Conservatives tend towards evil or apathy. They aren't fit to rule, because they don't want to make our nation a better place to live. Also, that sexism of yours? Dumb. The failure of Hillary and Kamala was because they didn't offer hope nor change. It is when a candidate promises to make things better, that people get excited. It sucks that evil has recognized this and took advantage, while the Democrats made never rocking their feed trough a priority.

I refuse your arguments, they would just allow the nation to continue circling down the toilet bowl of history.

You can pretty easily get a job for shit wages teaching English in Japan, and it's not the only country like that. You don't have to be rich, you just have to consider a different standard of living acceptable

You're describing a valid criticism of Capitalism, which I share 100%.
I just don't think that translates well to a direct guilt for Cameron.
He couldn't have brought his movies to the screen if he didn't work within this system.
Of course now that he's been successful, he could definitely donate his wealth.

On the other hand, I could also donate all $50k of my life savings without starving, while others are currently starving.
And I'm not going to do it. I carry the same type of guilt, only with lower numbers.

If you have 50k saved, you need that to survive within the system.

Nobody needs billions to survive within the system. They get that much so they can dictate the system.
