You can pretty easily get a job for shit wages teaching English in Japan, and it's not the only country like that. You don't have to be rich, you just have to consider a different standard of living acceptable
if thats all you are going to do, and can live off that then go for it. i doubt its the majority of the people that move there though. usually japan isnt really keen on giving much room for foreigners with careers, let alont immigrate there, especially now they have elected a far-right PM.

Back during W Bush second term, I looked at migration to just Canada. It was several thousands of dollars for the application, need to have employment shortly after moving there or before then. Now it's harder to do so.
THE PROBLEM is finding employment, i assume most people already had that set up prior to landing canada. its more likely if you are planning to go to "school" there , or have a in-demand job that canada needs filling.

As a professional scuba diver I think his ocean-related work is much more important than America. Sorry guys but the world doesn't revolve around you.

Whats irritating about this is not so much that he chose to leave but that he did so while making an unhelpful comment attacking every side in the political mess.
I would also be careful ignoring Trump. As much as I would like to think Trump is ignorable he has nukes and unlike Xi and Putin seems to have dementia.

I'm telling you that I don't want to be involved in a conflict beyond my control but I'm willing to stay and work for a better life on the other side of the violence, and you're saying that it's a sad statement compared to the immigrants who left their violent countries to pursue a better life in a country with no war?

Nah man I'm a professional scuba diver (well retired now) and avatar 2 and 3 made huge difference in pop cultural understand of the ocean. It's his most important work yet and one of the most important Hollywood movies ever. I've seen thousands of people here in Thailand alone who got into scuba diving and reduced their sea food consumption just because of Avatar - this is good!
Don't let your hate for the system blind you.
Feel about him ever how you wish. It wont affect how I feel about him in any way. He is running away. He is white and running away says it all to me. Avatar was just another CGI Cowboys and Indians fantasy. The plot couldn't have been any blunter.

No, I did see that USA invading other places/nationalities, Other Beings & Environments, even saw past genocide of North American Indigenous people, Other Beings & Environments, by The USA. That is so rare, no one else I know of does that sort of movie series , THEN IT IS JUST A PRETTY/FLUFF SET OF MOVIES! Unfortunately 1st is light years better
